About the role
The Yield & Performance Engineer (all genders) is responsible for supervising and managing the performance of renewable energy projects after construction and during the warranty phase, with a strong focus on PV and BESS hybrid systems. This role coordinates yield simulations and performance analysis activities across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company standards and best practices.
The Yield & Performance Engineer (all genders) plays a key role in developing and improving internal processes, guidelines and automation related to yield simulations and performance analysis. By combining strong technical expertise with analytical and communication skills, this role supports project optimization, risk assessment and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
What you will do
Define and further develop internal processes and guidelines for yield simulation and performance analysis of PV and BESS hybrid systems
Support project engineers with expert knowledge to perform detailed yield simulations and optimize project designs from a techno-economic perspective
Act as the main technical counterpart in discussions with external consultants, ensuring alignment of methodologies and assessments with internal standards
Coordinate yield studies with external technical advisors and review third-party yield reports
Analyse monitoring data to identify root causes of performance deviations and conduct field test comparisons
Train and support project engineers in yield simulation and plant optimization
Provide technical input for commercial risk assessments and cost optimization
Define and monitor performance ratio test procedures in collaboration with external stakeholders
Oversee commissioning of monitoring systems and integration into internal platforms
Analyse the performance of operating assets, implement lessons learned and coordinate improvements with relevant teams
Collaborate closely with project development, project management, technical teams and asset operations on yield and performance topics
Ensure regular internal communication and reporting, as well as alignment with external stakeholders
What you’ll need to succeed
A university degree in Engineering (electrical, industrial or similar)
At least 3 years of experience in design, simulation and performance analysis of renewable energy systems
Strong expertise in yield simulation tools, especially PVsyst
Extensive experience with monitoring software and data analysis platforms
Proven ability to review and evaluate third-party yield studies and translate findings into concrete design improvements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Commercial understanding, particularly in the context of contracts with clients and service providers
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, project management, O&M and asset management teams
Fluent in English
Solid understanding of PV and BESS systems and components
Programming skills (e.g. Python, VBA) are a plus
Experience in stakeholder management in an international environment
