Energy produced from renewable sources is growing rapidly around the world, with the goal of surpassing that produced from fossil fuels and adopting zero-carbon energy supplies. In the EU alone, renewable energy is estimated to generate 42.5 percent of all energy by 2030. Energy storage enables green electricity to be used more efficiently and penetrate further, ensuring the stability of power grids.

Large-scale stationary storage systems are pivotal in ensuring the maximization of renewable energy availability and value. These systems function by storing excess generation for subsequent release during periods of high demand. Strategically placing BESS within the power grid reduces the need for costly grid expansions and enables smarter use of existing infrastructure.

Battery storage, whether coupled with renewable energy or as a standalone solution, oenhances grid flexibility and resilience, helping to stabilize supply and optimize renewable integration. By reducing curtailment and improving system efficiency, BESS contributes to the lowest cost of energy, facilitating a cost-effective energy transition that benefits consumers and society.

We develop large-scale stationary storage systems to support a stable and flexible energy system, which are essential for ensuring a stable and flexible energy supply.

Electricity generated by wind and solar farms can be transferred during periods of excess supply and distributed when demand is highest. This process maximises the value of renewable energy and further promotes decarbonisation. Battery energy storage systems have a variety of applications, including:

  • Promoting the transfer of energy and encouraging the production of renewable energy during periods of peak demand.

  • Provide balancing and ancillary services to maintain grid stability and resilience.

  • Participating in wholesale markets for optimizing energy flows and promoting system flexibility.

We are proud to be a member of the Energy Storage Europe (ESE). This enables us to play an active role in shaping European storage regulations, thereby supporting the evolution of energy markets towards a modernized and standardized version.
